Itinerary
Day 1 :
Pinnawela/Kandy
Pinnawela – off Colombo-Kandy road is Pinnawela, where an orphanage was started in 1975 to house
abandoned and wounded elephants. The best time to visit is the feeding time and the bathing time;
when all the elephants are taken to the river close by.
Evening commence city tour of Kandy, including Upper Lake Drive, Market Square, Gem museum and
the Home to sacred relic of the tooth of the Buddha Temple [Dalada Maligawa / Temple of the tooth
relic] & Royal Botanical Garden
Kandy – the hill capital. Venue of the annual Perahera. The last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings was
finally ceded to the British in 1815. Kandy is an example of the Buddhism’s influence in Sri Lanka today.
Temple’s shrines and monasteries keeping alive Buddhist traditions are everywhere.
Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic – ever since 4 th Century A.D, when the Buddha’s Tooth was
brought to Sri Lanka hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess’ hair, the Relic has grown in
repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and throughout the Buddhist world. It is considered Sri Lanka’s most
prized possession.

Day 2 :
Bentota
After Breakfast transfer to Bentota, En Route engage in White water rafting activities

Day 3 :
Galle
Enroute engage in Galle City sightseeing the Heritage City, visit the Madhu Ganga Sightseeing and the
Galle – This is the most ancient and important harbor of the country, until the Colombo Harbor was
established. Galle is identified as the ‘Tarshis ‘of the Bible. This was captured by the Portuguese in 1587
A.D, Dutch in 1640 A.D, and British in 1796 A.D. Most of the existing buildings dates to Dutch Period.
The Bastians are still using Dutch names such as Zwart, Akesloot, and Aeloes etc. Famous for lace
making, Ebony carving, Gem cutting & polishing,
Overnight in Galle
Day 4 :
Colombo
After your breakfast you will be transferred to Colombo, Evening engage in a Colombo City tour
Colombo – A drive through the city will take you to the Fort and Pettah- the commercial area of the city
and tree-lined Colombo – 07 Cinnamon Gardens. Colombo 3, 4, 5, 8 are the prime residential area of the
City. Visit Fort, and Pettah for Shopping. The Hindu Temple at Sea Street, lined with goldsmith’s shops,
the Dutch Church at Wolfendaal, dating back to 1749. The historic Davatagaha Mosque, Independence
Hall, B.M.I.C.H, are some of the attractions in Colombo
Overnight stay at Hotel Colombo
Day 5 :
Colombo
After Breakfast transfer to Airport to connect departure flight
